This Privacy Policy describes how React TV Inc. ("React TV," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use React.tv (the website at react.tv, our optional Chrome extension, and the React.tv Android app).
1. Information We Collect
What we collect depends on how you use React.tv:
React.tv website. When you use react.tv in a browser (including pages you open yourself), we may collect account information, content you create, payment-related data processed by our providers, and usage information. On most site pages we use analytics tools (see "Cookies and Tracking Technologies") to understand performance and product usage. Those analytics do not run on embed player routes (for example, channel embed device or EPG pages), including when those routes are loaded inside the Android app's WebView.
React.tv Android app. The Android app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Browse, search and watching use our backend and work without signing in. Signing in is optional. You can sign in on a phone with Google, Twitch, Discord, or an email address or username, and on a TV by scanning a code and approving it on another device. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) and our backend process your email address, username, name and profile image as provided by you or your sign-in provider, and your account id. Signed in, you can save favorite channels, which we store with your account, and send chat messages from a phone, which are public in that channel under your username. Members of a channel's team can delete chat messages and time out or ban users from that channel's chat. In-app settings (such as preferences you choose on the device, and channels or users you hide) are stored on your device; sign-in tokens are stored in the device's secure storage. When you play a channel, the app may load React.tv embed pages in a WebView; those pages follow the embed and website practices described here, not separate in-app tracking.
Backend infrastructure. Realtime browse, search, chat, and reporting are powered by our Convex backend. Requests may be processed without linking them to an account when you are not signed in. Like most internet services, our infrastructure providers may log IP addresses and similar technical metadata for security, abuse prevention, and operations.
Content reports. If you report a channel or a public chat message, we store the report target (channel and, for chat reports, message id), the category you select, optional written detail, a timestamp, and either your user id or an anonymous marker. We use reports to investigate violations and improve safety. See "Data Retention" for how long we keep reports.
We also collect information you provide directly and related to your account and use of the service, including:
• Account information (email, username, profile data)
• Content you create, upload, or share on our platform
• Device information and technical data when you use our website or apps
• Payment information (processed securely through third-party providers)
• If you use our optional Chrome extension: the channel name you enter may be stored locally in your browser; the extension relies on your existing React.tv sign-in (see the Chrome extension section below)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process your account registration and manage your profile
• Enable content creation, sharing, and collaboration features
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Send you important updates and notifications
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
• Ensure platform security and prevent abuse
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
• With your consent or at your direction
• With service providers who assist in operating our platform
• To comply with legal obligations or protect our rights
• In connection with a business transfer or merger
• To prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats
4. Content and Third-Party Services
Our platform integrates with third-party content providers:
• YouTube: We embed YouTube content on our platform using YouTube API Services. Creators may also optionally connect their YouTube account via Google OAuth with read-only access. We use it to read their channel information (name, ID, handle, and avatar) to verify ownership and link the channel to React.tv, and to read the list of videos they have uploaded (titles, thumbnails, durations, and similar details) so they can sync those videos into their React.tv library. We never upload, edit, or delete anything on YouTube. We store an encrypted refresh token to keep the connection working. This data is used only to provide these features. It is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is not shared with third parties. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time from the Creator Dashboard, which revokes our access and deletes your stored token. You can also revoke access from your Google security settings. Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Twitch: We integrate with Twitch streams and may share stream data
• Other video platforms: Channels can also include videos from TikTok, Dailymotion and the Internet Archive. We play them in each platform's own embedded player, on the website and in the Android app. When a video plays, that platform may collect information such as your IP address and device details, and may show its own ads, under its own privacy policy.

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
5. Chrome extension (optional browser add-on)
We may offer an optional extension in the Chrome Web Store that helps you add content from a supported page to your React.tv channel library. The following applies when you use that extension:
Session-based authentication. The extension does not store your account password. It uses your existing sign-in session on React.tv: when you are signed in to our website in a normal browser tab, a short-lived authentication token associated with your account may be read so the extension can perform actions you request, in line with the same sign-in you already have on the site.
Data sent to our services. When you use the extension to add media, the current page URL (and related information needed to resolve and add that content, the same purpose as when you add content on our site) is sent to our backend so we can add it to your library. This is not used for advertising profiling by us through the extension.
Local storage in your browser. The extension may store small preferences (for example, the channel name you last entered) using Chrome's extension storage on your device only, to improve convenience between uses. You can clear extension data in your browser settings.
We do not sell your data. We do not sell your personal information collected through the extension. How we share information more broadly is described in "Information Sharing and Disclosure" above.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
To delete your account, sign in at react.tv/user/settings and choose Security, then Delete account, or use Account, then Delete account in the Android app on a phone. This deletes your account and favorites and removes your chat messages from chat.
Platform content reports (channel and public chat reports) are retained for up to 24 months from the report date for moderation, audit, and legal compliance, then deleted or anonymized unless we must keep specific records longer to resolve an active investigation or legal obligation.

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of your data
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
On the React.tv website (outside embed player routes), we use cookies and similar technologies to:
• Remember your preferences and settings
• Analyze site usage and improve performance
• Provide personalized content and features
• Ensure platform security
Embed player routes loaded on react.tv (including in the Android app's WebView) do not use our optional analytics cookies described above. You can control cookie settings for the main website through your browser preferences.
10. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications.
